Meet Our Team!

Arbel Eckstein, M.A.

Registered Psychological Associate PSB 94026955

I believe our thoughts and behaviors have evolved to shield us from painful experiences and ultimately minimize the possibility of their repetition. As a behavioral health expert, I specialize in my work with youth, families, and adult clientele who struggle with: substance use and various addictions, depression, anxiety/stress, trauma, unhealthy relationships, transitional life stages/feelings of stagnation in life, grief and loss. I mold my therapeutic approach to meet your individual needs.

I completed my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology and will be obtaining my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Interdisciplinary Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology by June (2023). Currently, I am employed as substance use and mental health intern-psychologist at Tarzana Treatment Centers. I am registered through ASAM and am a registered Drug and Alcohol Counselor by CAADE. Additionally, I am certified in trauma-informed care.

I believe we are all on a journey to remember who we are at our core. With me as your therapist, we will co-create a safe relational space for you to explore your authentic self, your full range of emotion and expression, your thoughts and beliefs, your relationships, and your traumas. My therapeutic style is uniquely tailored to each individual with whom I work. My approach is holistic and integrative, weaving traditional and non-traditional psychotherapeutic knowledge, intuitive healing, spirituality, Somatic Experiencing techniques, Shamanic wisdom and rituals, energy work, breath work, nature-based and animal-assisted methods, and more. Together, we will ebb and flow with your needs, wants, goals and dreams as you heal and transform toward your most authentic self.

I received my Master of Arts in Integral Counseling Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). I worked in a non-profit providing trauma-informed equine-assisted psychotherapy to children, adults, families, and groups, and I am currently pursuing certification in Somatic Experiencing.

When humans experience trauma from addiction or real-life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. My passion is to bring healing to people who have experienced traumatic and stressful events. I help people find a healthy perception of themselves by recognizing their strengths and accomplishments and building healthy relationships through compassion, empathy, and understanding.

I’ve been working in mental health and addiction for over 15 years. My main focus of work is men’s issues, individual, couples and family therapy, Neurofeedback and 12 Step Recovery. I am pursuing my PsyD in clinical psychology at California State University. I obtained my Masters in Psychology from California State University, Bachelor of Arts in Human Behavior from Ryokan College, and I am an Advanced Substance Abuse Disorder Certified Counselor (SUDCC-IV)
